This work is about people’s longed-for understanding and unavoidable self-projection in an intimate relationship.
The artist is making Peyote beading recently and was amazed by the intricate structure achieved due to the technique. This structure can only reveal itself when someone looks closely enough and be able to see through the distraction of colors and patterns. The magnifying lens exaggerates the structure of the bead. This provides the beholders a better look at the details, which represents the openness that one looks for in an intimate relationship. Also, due to the property of Peyote beading, with a mirror placing behind, a positive reflection was presented. This symbolized the way people projecting themselves on other people.
